Theater Amsterdam
Theater Amsterdam opened its doors in May 2014. The opening coincided with the debut performance of the play ANNE, based on the famous Diary of Anne Frank, which was attended by King Willem-Alexander. The theatre lies next to the IJ river in the Westelijke Houthavens, mear the city centre. With an Auditorium covering 4.200 m2, Theater Amsterdam offers a unique opportunity for large scenery and the most up-to-date theatre techniques. The theatre is easily reached by bike, car, public transport and even boat.

Theater Amsterdam is the first theater specially built for the theater system SceneAround, a presentation form of theater where the audience follows a performance on a rotating stand.

Restaurants
Theater Amsterdam has several good and atmospheric restaurants in the vicinity where you can have dinner prior to a show in our theatre. Restaurant Ferry is a transformed ferry in the middle of the Haparandadam with a nice sunny terrace. REM Eiland is a good restaurant with perhabs the most beautiful view of Amsterdam. It used to serve as the base of a commercial television station. Also Gary Loen, situated on a floating pavilion, is highly recommended. Please take into consideration that Gary Loen only serves multi-course menu’s, so make sure you have enought time to have dinner here. New in the area is area is Borisov at the Rigakade, where every week another chef reigns. Theater Amsterdam has it’s own kitchen with top chef as well.
